Our Doctors

Dr Juan Corkill

MUDr. M.R.C.G.P.

Dr Corkill worked as a clinical lead for the GP led A&E and frailty service in the Coventry and Rugby region. Dr Corkill has an interest in Palliative Care and Primary-Secondary Care integration.

Dr Christopher Waldrum

BSc, MB, ChB, LLB, M.R.C.G.P. DFFP, Dip SEM

Dr Waldrum worked as a GP in Leicestershire, Northampton and Rugby before relocating to the Isle of Man in 2011. He worked at Ramsey Group Practice before moving to Ballasalla Medical Centre in August 2022. Dr Waldrum has an interest in Sports Medicine (previously being team Doctor for Northampton town football club and Northampton Saints), and an interest in male contraception, qualified to perform vasectomies within Primary Care.


Our Nursing Team

The Practice employs 2 part time nurses, appointments can be made via the receptionists. 

The practice nurses offer a wide range of health care including Asthma and Spirometry, Diabetes, Travel advice, Childhood vaccinations, Ear Syringing, Smear Tests and Contraception, Smoking Cessation, and New Patient medical checks.

Reception and Secretarial Staff

We have dedicated team of administrative staff with many years of experience. They offer excellent support for the clinical staff and have a good working knowledge of the patient base and health agencies in the Island. 

The Practice Staff have the right to do their jobs without fear of verbal or physical abuse of any kind. This includes rudeness or unpleasant behaviour. If a patient is violent to any member of the Practice Team or exhibits unacceptable behaviour they may be asked to register with another Practice.


Our Attached Team

Phlebotomist

The Practice has a fully qualified phlebotomist who runs a blood clinic 8:30 am to 10:30 am Monday to Thursday.

Health Visitor

The Doctors work closely with the Health Visitor attached to the Practice who provides advice and support to families with small children, the elderly and the disabled. She can be contacted from 9.30 am to 10.30 am Monday to Friday by telephoning 686941 but a message can be left on the answerphone when she is not in the office and your call will be returned at her earliest opportunity. 

District Nurse

The District Nurse provides general nursing care in the community. A District Nurse is attached to the Practice and can be contacted via the surgery during normal office hours. 

Midwife

The Midwife runs a weekly clinic at the Practice on a Thursday afternoon. Appointments can be made via the Reception staff.
